Did you know in Finland they don’t specify the gender in speech but instead, everyone is referred to by a gender-flexible “hän”?
Luxembourg is a very multicultural and multilingual country with over 170 different nationalities. Different languages have a very different way of defining genders. This is the topic we want to focus on during our lunchtime talks.
During this event Hofstede Insights’ Tatjana von Bonkewitz will join us to talk about why gendered language matters.
We will finish the event with a panel discussion and Q&A with four women from different cultures around the world to discuss how they perceive gender in their languages.
Schedule
12:00 Tatjana von Bonkewitz: Females included? How gender-biased language affects perception and reality.
13:00 Panel discussion and Q&A with women from South Korea, India, France and Finland
This event is FREE. Claim your tickets by the ticket link on the right side of the page.
